Footsteps To Recovery
Footsteps to Recovery (F2R) provides structured and less structured Aftercare, Recovery Support and volunteering.
F2R is available at locations in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, including support during evenings and weekends.
F2R provides a wide variety of activities and opportunities for you to build your own Recovery Capital, you can choose as many or as little activities as you would like to support you through your recovery.
Throughcare – Learn more about our ‘pick and mix’ approach to recovery support, attend our weekly ThruCare Cafe held at Solas Cymru or one of our Footsteps Practitioners will be happy to meet with you. This is the first step to accessing Footsteps to Recovery.
Structured Programme – This 12 week structured programme is for people at a stable point in their treatment who wish to move on from substance dependence and improve their mental wellbeing. The programme includes group work using the Pillars of Recovery, one to one Solutions Focussed Support and access to structured counselling.
Community Support – Recovery Cymru is a peer led mutual aid support community for people seeking recovery. Through F2R you can access activities including: Support and self help groups, recovery coaching, telephone recovery support, social activities, volunteering, medication assisted recovery support.
Volunteering
Mile – a distance travelled – Specialist volunteering for people who have experienced substance misuse and feel ready to volunteer to help others with their recovery - delivered by NewLink Wales
NewSteps – For people solid in their recovery, nearing the end of treatment who want to volunteer in conservation projects or other good causes - delivered by NewLink Wales
Ongoing Aftercare – Access to counselling, relapse prevention and wellbeing programmes to help you making changes long term.

Footsteps to Recovery is delivered by a consortium of treatment and recovery service providers - Solas Cymru, Recovery Cymru and NewLink Wales, each organisation has a long established commitment to providing specialist treatment and supporting individuals, families and communities seeking to achieve and maintain recovery.
