Qualifications
Over the years we have been supporting the sector by forging partnerships with different Awarding Bodies to enable us to provide qualifications to up skill and demonstrate the competence of the workforce.
We are an established and well respected centre for both City and Guilds and the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM),
enabling us to offer a growing variety of qualifications to suit everybody within the sector, from service users, through to practitioners, volunteers and management.
Practitioner Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
Awards & Certificates in Working with Substance Misuse
Assessment, Verification and Quality Assurance Qualifications
These qualifications are for people working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and internal quality assurance. They have been developed by LLUK to replace the Assessor and Verifier (A&V;) Units. For most people who wish to assess candidates in the workplace, for example those candidates undertaking a Health and Social Care Diploma, the most appropriate qualification is likely to be the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment. These are new qualifications and may appear confusing. If you would like to discuss which qualification is most suitable for you then please contact a member of our training team.
Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits)
Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (9 credits)
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (15 credits)
Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (6 credits)
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (12 credits)
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (17 credits)
ILM Management Qualifications
NewLink Wales has been an Institute of Leadership and Management Centre since 2008. We offer qualifications at levels 3, 5, and 7. These qualifications involve observation in the workplace. Evidence is collected using a portfolio. Candidates are able to start at any point during the year, depending on the availability of assessors. Candidates need to be in an appropriate job role for the level of qualification they undertake.
Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no prior entry requirements in terms of knowledge, attainment or experience, an appropriate knowledge and understanding of underpinning principles of leadership and the management process will need to be demonstrated. NewLink Wales will confirm that intending candidates are in a position to gather evidence to demonstrate competence against the standards and are able to benefit generally from the programme.
