Course description

This course aims to build on existing knowledge surrounding the field of substance misuse. The courses emphasises the importance of harm reduction techniques in ensuring the users of substances receive appropriate information to minimise risk and harm.

Course prerequisites

This course is aimed at individuals who have already attended our Substance Misuse Awareness Level 1 training, or who already possess a basic understanding in the subject matter.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the effects of the drugs from each category
  • Discuss appropriate harm reduction techniques
  • Outline the ‘cycle of change’
  • Discuss the recovery process
  • Understand the process of preparing a drug for injection

This course does have the option of a participant completing an accreditation with an additional cost of £55.
