Alerts issued over 'Donkey Kong' MDMA

Three hospitalisations have been reported amongst young adults in Cardiff following consumption of MDMA tablets called Donkey Kong. In addition, one fatality has been reported and is currently under investigation by Gwent Police. Read more

Cardiff and Vale UHB: Advice on Antabuse (Disulfiram) shortages

The UK manufacturers of Antabuse (disulfiram) tablets are currently experiencing some production difficulties. This means that UK community pharmacies may not be able to supply you with Antabuse (disulfiram) over the next six to ten weeks. Try not to worry. Cardiff and Vale UHB has been able to obtain disulfiram from other EU countries and can provide for you. Read more

Meet Jenine

She’s the NewLink Wales runner in the 2017 London Marathon. ‘The idea of running the marathon had popped into my head whilst watching it back in April, but I decided to first begin training for a half marathon before taking this big leap,’ she says. ‘Since successfully completing the Cardiff Half in August, I have been infected with the ‘running bug’. A huge success, raising over £800! We gained a lot of support for our work, which will continue beyond Heroine Day. More importantly, the campaign helped us get a message of hope out to people tackling addiction: recovery is possible and should be celebrated. Read more

If young people engage in social action, it benefits both them and the communities around them. That’s the message behind #iwillweek, part of the UK-wide #iwill campaign. The goal is to make social action part of life for as many 10-20 year olds as possible by 2020. Read more
