NVQ Level Three Health & Social Care

This is a nationally recognised qualification which enables workers to demonstrate their competence against a range of national occupational standards. This award comprises eight units. Four of these are compulsory and four can be chosen from a large number of optional units. Optional units include those from the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS).

The qualification is assessed using a range of methods. These might include observation, statements from witnesses, work products, self reflective accounts, written and verbal questions and professional discussions.

The assessment is planned between the candidate and the assessor and assessment takes place in the workplace.

The candidates are registered with the awarding body, City and Guilds, for three years. NewLink Wales usually contracts to assess the candidate over the course of one year. Most candidates complete within a year and many complete within about six months.

For the cost of this award (which includes registration, certification, all assessment and both internal and external verification) please contact NewLink Wales.
