Motivational Interviewing - Level One

Course Specification/Contents:

This course offers a comprehensive understanding of both the stages of change model and motivational interviewing.

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Be able to identify the various stages of change
  • Understand the key principles, spirit and overall approach of motivational interviewing
  • Be familiar with the core skills of motivational interviewing
  • Have had an opportunity to practice these skills.

Trainer:

Karen Marsh

Karen has been using Motivational Interviewing in her work for 15 years. She has received accreditation from the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. She is trained in many fields including substance misuse, mental health, probation and education. Karen is currently using Motivational Interviewing in her counselling practice in both private and educational settings.

This course is free to workers based in Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan.

A 10% discount will be given on bookings when a completed booking form is received six weeks before the course date. Unfortunately we cannot offer the usual 5% discount to members on top of this.
