Course Specification/Contents:

This course is aimed at people with little knowledge of substance misuse. The content includes the following:

  1. The main categories of drugs and their effects
  2. Alcohol and its effects
  3. Patterns of drug use
  4. Methods of drug use
  5. Introduction to service provision

Learning outcomes: By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the most commonly misused categories of substances
  2. List the effects of alcohol and the risks associated with alcohol misuse
  3. Describe patterns of substance misuse
  4. Discuss different types of service provision

Please note that the course running on the 11th & 12th November 2010 is free to workers based in Cardiff.

A 10% discount will be given when completed booking forms are received 6 weeks before the course date. But the 5% discount for member agencies cannot also be given.
