Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Addictions

Course Specification/Contents:

This course aims to introduce the therapy to participants. At the end of the two days participants should be able to:

1. Descrive the main theories underpinning CBT work within addictions (e.g. learning theory)

2. Demonstrate problem identification through the "5 W's"

3. Describe ABC analyses

4. Discuss relapse prevention strategies and evidence base

5. Express confidence in applying the theory/tools

Trainer:

Dr Lee Hogan

Dr Lee Hogan is a clinical psychologist working for Clinical Psychology Associates. He has worked for several NHS Trusts and was a part time project leader CAIS.

This course is free to workers based in Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan.

A 10% discount will be given on bookings when a completed booking form is received six weeks before the course date. Unfortunately we cannot offer the usual 5% discount to members on top of this.
