Substance Misuse Volunteering & Training

Welcome to NewLink Wales

NewLink Wales is an independent substance misuse organisation operating throughout Wales. We link:

  • Volunteers to agencies
  • Agencies to training
  • Communities to services

We work in partnership with Welsh organisations and agencies operating frontline services to substance misusers.

We recruit, train, place and support volunteers with agencies throughout Wales whose remit includes substance misuse.

The MILE programme has been developed to harness the valuable experiences of ex-users.

The NewSteps Service User Volunteer Project provides volunteering opportunities in environmental projects, to those still in treatment.

We provide training for those working in agencies whose client group may include substance misusers, offering accredited and DANOS-matched courses.

Our services to Black and Minority Ethnic Communities (BME) are delivered through our Community Engagement Projects providing support through various services to individuals, families and communities affected by the issues of substance misuse.

For information about our services and what we have achieved in the last year please take a look at our annual report:

You can read more about our objectives here

We have grown and developed over what seems a short period of time, and we hope to continue to consult and work in partnership with agencies to provide the highest of standards in all our services. The following pages will give you more information about us.
