Aims of the Axis Project

The Axis Project aims:

  • to build links with both the communities and the treatment providers
  • to act as a bridge to bring communities and treatment agencies closer together

Activities

The Axis Project provides:

  • Information on drugs and alcohol in various languages and outreach work available
  • Treatment options and associated services available to support you
  • Encouragement through referral to an agency which you have chosen to best support you
  • Confidential support for individuals and family members
  • Opportunity to talk in confidence with women only and men only sessions
  • A prayer room for those visiting during a prayer time

Volunteer support

Volunteers at the project will:

  • Give support for service users making their first steps towards receiving treatment
  • Continue to befriend people in and through treatment and back into the community
  • Give support to the families and friends of service users
  • Give assistance with related issues such as housing or criminal justice.
