Aims of the Axis Project
The Axis Project aims:
- to build links with both the communities and the treatment providers
- to act as a bridge to bring communities and treatment agencies closer
together
Activities
The Axis Project provides:
- Information on drugs and alcohol in various languages and outreach
work available
- Treatment options and associated services available to support you
- Encouragement through referral to an agency which you have chosen
to best support you
- Confidential support for individuals and family members
- Opportunity to talk in confidence with women only and men only sessions
- A prayer room for those visiting during a prayer time
Volunteer support
Volunteers at the project will:
- Give support for service users making their first steps towards receiving
treatment
- Continue to befriend people in and through treatment and back into
the community
- Give support to the families and friends of service users
- Give assistance with related issues such as housing or criminal justice.
Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will be happy to talk to you about volunteering
opportunities within our various placement agencies including the Axis
