Aims of the Axis Project

The Axis Project aims:

to build links with both the communities and the treatment providers
to act as a bridge to bring communities and treatment agencies closer together

Activities

The Axis Project provides:

Information on drugs and alcohol in various languages and outreach work available
Treatment options and associated services available to support you
Encouragement through referral to an agency which you have chosen to best support you
Confidential support for individuals and family members
Opportunity to talk in confidence with women only and men only sessions
A prayer room for those visiting during a prayer time

Volunteer support

Volunteers at the project will:

Give support for service users making their first steps towards receiving treatment
Continue to befriend people in and through treatment and back into the community
Give support to the families and friends of service users
Give assistance with related issues such as housing or criminal justice.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will be happy to talk to you about volunteering opportunities within our various placement agencies including the Axis project. Please contact us for more details.
